Rustic & Sweet Yellow Summer Wedding

Pretty!

Being an absolutely amazing baker & stylist, Clair of Calamity Cakes cooked up this beautiful {Rustic & Sweet} Yellow Summer Wedding for her sister-in-law’s big day!
This wedding is such a sweet celebration of love (and the photos from J&J Brusie Photography prove it) with charming decor, a beautiful dessert table & incrediblewedding cake with beautiful fondant flowers (which came on a 26 hour flight from Australia!) – all made by a loving family. Which, to me, sounds like the perfect day! …Oh, and can we talk about how cute that dog is in that little tuxedo? I just can’t handle it. :)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
– Pretty centerpieces with floating candles in mason jars & hand-picked daisies on a wood platform
– Rustic dessert buffet with cupcakes & yellow candies in apothecary jars tied with polka dot ribbons
– Breathtaking yellow & white wedding cake with ribbon & gorgeous fondant flowers
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Clair
The wedding was for my sister-in-law in Michigan. I created the invites and helped her plan for the day from Australia.
The dessert table was styled using an assortment of yellows and whites, with lots of old fashioned candy, millionaire bars, three flavours of cupcake baked by Aunt Kathy and the 5 tier chocolate mud cake by me. I created dozens on sugar roses and other flowers and transported them with me on the 26 hour journey from Australia to Michigan, where I baked the cake and put it all together.
The table centres were created using local timber, mason jars with floating candles, off-white lanterns wrapped in moss, and daisies collected from the fields behind the bride and grooms home, where the couple were married. The brides father made the great signs, that were penned by the grooms Aunt Tammy. The grooms brother deejayed, my daughter was the flower girl, and my son did a reading. It was certainly a family affair.
